⚠️ Limitations & Risks
Does the IPF guarantee investments?
No. It only compensates for malpractice or insolvency, not for normal market risks.
What is the purpose of the IPF?
The Fund protects investors if a licensed market intermediary fails to account for money, securities, or assets entrusted to them in a legitimate transaction. It handles intermediary risk, not market risk.
Does the Fund cover poor investment performance or market losses?
No. The IPF is not an insurance policy for share value drops, weak company earnings, or normal market movements. It only applies when a broker or dealer suffers financial failure or defaults on obligations.
Who regulates the Fund?
The fund operates under the oversight of the SECZIM, which regulates Zimbabwe’s capital markets, licenses intermediaries, and supervises market participants.
How large is the Fund currently?
The IPF is valued at USD7.9mil, bolstered by strong investment returns
