Mrs. Justice Vernanda Ziyambi is a retired Judge of both the Supreme Court and Constitutional Courts of Zimbabwe. She retired from both courts in December 2016 at the age of 70 years. In 2017, she was appointed to serve for one year as acting Judge in both courts. Mrs. Justice Ziyambi was appointed to the High Court bench in November 1992. In 2001, she became the first woman to be appointed to the bench of the Supreme Court of Zimbabwe as a Judge of Appeal.
At the time of her retirement in 2016, she was the third most senior Judge of the Supreme and Constitutional Courts of Zimbabwe after the Chief Justice and Deputy Chief Justice. From January to December 2014, Mrs. Justice Ziyambi, together with a colleague, Mr. Justice Garwe, served as an acting Judge of Appeal on the Bench of the Supreme Court of Namibia. Mrs. Justice Ziyambi was appointed as Board Member and Chairman of the Investor Protection Fund Board on the 29th of April 2019.
