Mr. Thomson Masvaure is an A/Deputy Accountant General responsible for Government Accounting Services in the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development & Investment Promotion (MoFEDIP). He also worked for the then Coopers and Lybrand, before it merged with Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants, from November 1992 to June 1999 as an Accountant in the Business Services Department (BSD). He later joined Urban Development Corporation (Udcorp) from July 1999 to May 2005 as an External Auditor. In June 2005, he joined Redcliff Municipality as Head of Internal Audit until August 2007, but was briefly seconded to be a Chief Accountant for 6 months. He then joined the Ministry of Finance in April 2008 to date.

He was the 2nd Vice President of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIAZ) (Zimbabwe Chapter) for the 2021/2022 financial year. He chaired the membership and publicity committee for 4 years. Mr. Masvaure is the Country Representative of the African Association of Accountant Generals (AAAG). He is also a Country Coordinator for the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) for the Leadership Excellence in Africa Program (LEAPS) being done in 7 countries, spearheaded by Ubora Academy since September 2024. He is also a non-executive board member of the Public Accountants and Auditors Board (PAAB) and Chairs the Public Sector Accounting Standards Panel. He is also a non-executive board of the IPF and chairs the Audit Committee.
